Use case
Bodybuilding Tracker: See Volume by Muscle Group
Bodybuilding is a volume game: IRONSLOG logs every set against a target muscle group and rolls the last 7 days into a ranked training volume chart in analytics, so you can see which muscle groups are actually getting worked this week and which are being skipped.
How does IRONSLOG track volume per muscle group?
Every exercise in the 873-movement library lists its primary and secondary muscles, so every logged set contributes tonnage (weight × reps) to those muscle groups’ weekly total. The analytics view ranks muscle groups from highest to lowest volume over the last 7 days as horizontal bars — an at-a-glance check for lagging body parts.
Does it support supersets and higher-rep hypertrophy work?
Yes — the plan editor and CSV import support marking consecutive exercises as a superset, and there’s no rep-count restriction anywhere in the logger, so straight sets, supersets and higher-rep hypertrophy ranges all log the same way.
| Need | IRONSLOG feature |
|---|---|
| Balance training across muscle groups | Weekly per-muscle volume bars in analytics |
| Track hypertrophy over time | Estimated 1RM and top-set charts per exercise |
| Log supersets | Superset pairing in the plan editor and CSV import |
| Filter exercises by target muscle | 17-muscle filter in the exercise library |
Key takeaways
- Weekly per-muscle-group training volume is ranked in analytics, from your last 7 days of logged sets.
- Volume is calculated as tonnage — weight × reps — using each exercise’s primary and secondary muscles.
- Supersets are supported in both the plan editor and CSV import/export.
- The 873-exercise library filters by 17 muscle groups for targeted accessory work.
